With a view to preventing and reducing conflicts and social impacts around large-scale renewable energy projects, as well as complying with international standards, a series of recommendations are presented for the participatory development of renewable energy projects, where all actors have the opportunity to be part of the planning, development and decision-making processes, based on best practices and national and international recommendations.

The recommendations are based on five pillars to guarantee the active, free and meaningful participation of local populations in energy projects:
